Eclipse

The days fly by,
Like seasons do;
I’m forgotten;
But alive, too.

Few days are good;
Most still are bad;
Some hours bring smiles;
Most keep me sad.

As the days go,
I let them, one
By one, and blur
The moon and the sun.

I put on smiles,
As night takes day;
And like the night,
They do not stay.

So I live them,
Like pills and sleep,
Like dreams I dream;
But cannot keep.

I Couldn’t Keep You Happy

I could not keep you happy all the time.
(You could not do the same for me, too.)
But I gave you every thing that was mine –
All of my hopes and smiles I shared with you

Who stays happy all the time in love? (I ask.)
I’ve been in love before and I’ve made it last.
Making true love live is an easy task:
It predicts the future; learns from the past.

I didn’t keep you happy not all the time –
But you made choices through all of our fights!
There were many smiles (which u now decline)!
I made you family, I gave you equal rights!

I have my faults and, yes, you have your own –
So why am I the only one to blame?
Why must I alone be left to atone,
When you have forsaken our very names?

It takes two to tango, here, three could dance;
I was willing to share with you progress
But you resolved not to give us a chance
And succumbed to finally regress.

Love for me doesn’t alter with hours and weeks.
Sex may dwindle, but that’s never the end;
Now I have nightmares. A woken fear speaks:
‘All he ever did with you was pretend.’

Little things.

It starts slow.

Little things you forget to do.

Little words you forget to say.

Some thoughts die, some memories too

Just little things.

It’s a human condition.

Let’s just attribute it to genes.

It’s like waking up to life

And forgetting all of sleep’s dreams.

It’s a recurrence of the new,

It’s a letting go of the past;

It’s another one of life’s lessons:

All good things seldom last.

Little things come in that are new:

A word of love, a laugh that rhymes,

A road that hasn’t been taken,

A blurring of drawn out lines.

People talk of love and faith and hope;

But time corrodes even diamond rings;

And they lie forgotten in the universe,

Swept off in dust as little things,

Just little things.
