Those Who Feel

When life is hardest hit,

You see with empty eyes,

You see life falter,

You watch, as it dies…

You look around in pain,

Through opaque ground glass,

Others say, it’s just time,

Yet, it does not pass!

As life lays dying,

You are well aware

Of those who feel

And choose to be there.

Those Smiling Faces…

The hits they keep on coming!

Life I suppose works this way…

But I’ve seen others happy,

Their fruits are ripe,

Their suns come to stay.

Rain seems fair for me, I guess –

It has its share of dark peace –

And, in stranger times,

Water brings so much release!

But, puddles form muck;

Falls happen; and infections;

And, most times, I resent

Most of all my reflections.

I’ve seen people hope and smile,

I know I mock them with sneers;

I wonder if my mind will choose

To accept the wishes my heart hears.

Loss and life seem intertwined;

I have made my peace with rain;

But those smiling faces and suns

Keep mocking me again and again.

C-3PO

Anakin built me; but,
in many ways,
This is certainly not what defines me!
I’ve expendable bolts,
and nuts,
and stays,
But that is just what you mop-heads would see!

I do have a heart;
I daresay, it shines,
Like this
human-cyborg
body of gold;
I might say,
it quite definitely defines
Every one of the stories
I have told.

I may be etiquette
and protocol,
Catering most
to the wise and royal;
But, oh,
I am committed wherewithal;
And, I might also add,
I am loyal.

I’ve seen Anakin,
Padmé,
Bail
and Luke
Valiantly fight,
valiantly fall,
And though
there has been BB-8’s rebuke,
R2-D2
has seen me through it all.
