Drop to Drop

The countless upon countless
Leaves of grass dance in the street;
They’ll rise in countless seasons,
And, in death, they all shall meet.

As time shifts from bloody womb,
Love seems to fade and loss looms;
Clear skies, that once shone bright blue,
Are now choked, by life’s dark fumes.

Innumerable tears, like years,
Fall from waving leaves on grass,
But, from drop to drop, who knows
Just what may still come to pass.

People

People have notions
Of the life I lead,
Many fail to know
Just what I need.

They see fair princes
Assume endings ;
They ignore battles,
Quiet defendings.

People love drama,
Suppose stories:
Shining armour;
Such rave glories!

Deep truth is darker,
As truth must be;
People mark the light,
Leave the dark to me.

I searched for peace;
But battled for time;
And received minutes,
That made hope mine.

People guess I smile:
I’ve more than enough!
All did and does go well!
I never had it rough!

They don’t see fear
Or anxiety,
Those slurs and punches
Bestowed on me.

How each prince I loved
Gave me songs to sing –
But only if I gave
What made him a king.

People I love,
Who love me back,
Have no qualms in
Judging what I lack;

So the fair endings,
All, wilfully, see,
Aren’t actually
What happen to me.

People are people.
This is just so.
The truth of my life
Is just mine to know.

Live

Love makes you hope,
Hope makes you weak;
Love shows you dreams,
Hope lets you seek.

Life sends you warnings,
Hope takes away fear;
Folk show their colours,
Hope makes them unclear.

Life’s wounds fester lessons,
Love unlearns to forgive;
Tears gather over smiles,
Love teaches life to live.
