If the moon loved me,
He would be jealous of you;
And would keep you wanting,
Until you proved to be true.
If the moon loved me,
He would let me dream;
He would fling the tides,
And let them scream.
If the moon loved me,
I’d rule every night,
Fly with the dark,
Away from the light.
If the moon loved me,
I’d learn how to cope,
With shadows and fear,
With death and with hope.

You always refer to the moon as she. I think it’s one of the few times you referred to it as him. And i think you did because you wanted to metaphorically & hypothetically refer to him as your lover.
